We are pleased to announce that Danielle Kozlosky was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Student Merit and Achievement Award from Rutgers University. This award recognizes excellence in doctoral research and scholarship across all disciplines.
We are pleased to welcome Rashmi Vasthare as a Summer Patent Intern. Rashmi is a first-year law student at Rutgers Law School. Rashmi earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering and a MS in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University School of Engineering. Prior to beginning law school Rashmi worked as a Senior Associate Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
We are pleased to announce that Rebecca Smirk received the 2023 Gertrude K. McGonigle Award, which recognizes one individual a year from Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania’s nine county footprint who has been a registered Girl Scout volunteer for a minimum of ten years, has proven to be a positive role model while working directly with girls, and has exemplified the values and traditions of Girl Scouting. The award is given in honor of Gertrude K. McGonigle by her daughter, in recognition of her mother’s long-standing interest and support of Girl Scouting in the Reading/Berks County area. After completing her PhD, Danielle joined Servilla Whitney as a Patent Scientist, focusing on aiding with patent drafting and prosecution, opinions, and analysis. Her training primarily centers around patents in the areas of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, with a minimal focus on materials science and semiconductor devices. She is constantly learning and gaining new experiences in developing patent portfolio and prosecution strategies.
Prior to joining Servilla Whitney, Danielle completed her PhD in Toxicology at Rutgers University, where she studied cadmium toxicity on reproduction and development, with a primary focus on the placenta. Her education also included research on diabetes and the islet of Langerhans, the beneficial applications of tea constituents on gastrointestinal pathologies, and various areas of occupational and environmental health.
Danielle is also a J.D. Candidate at University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law with an expected graduation date of 2026.
Dr. Danielle Kozlosky joins us as a summer intern. Dr. Kozlowsky recently completed the requirements for a PhD in Toxicology at Rutgers University, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology at Rutgers University. Danielle’s thesis involved studying mechanisms of fetoplacental cadmium toxicity in the laboratory of Dr. Lauren Aleksunes. Danielle will be entering law school this fall.
Nickita Alexiades joins us as a summer associate. Nickita is entering his third year at Seton Hall University School of Law. Nickita received a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2017. Prior to entering law school at Seton Hall, Nickita worked at a Regulatory Affairs Consultant Engineer, providing global regulatory and compliance assistance to clients in the medical device, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
Patrick Vinchur joins us as a summer intern. Patrick will be entering Rutgers University School of Law this fall as a first year law student. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University.
