Scott Servilla, Sunil Raval and Matthew Hintz recently participated at Pro Bono Partnership’s SMORGASBONOSM program on May 27, 2014 with other local in-house counsel and outside attorneys at BASF Corporation’s headquarters in Florham Park. Our attorneys met with fifteen area nonprofits to discuss and advise on their legal issues in the fields of intellectual property, corporate governance, and internet and website issues. Servilla Whitney is happy continue its support Pro Bono Partnership in its efforts to provide legal services to nonprofit organizations.
Robert Kroczynski joined Servilla Whitney LLC as an associate earlier in 2014. Bob has extensive experience in preparation and prosecution of patents for semiconductor materials and processes, small organic molecules, various mechanical devices and systems, and computer and business methods.

The U. S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) recently confirmed the validity of BASF’s U.S. Patent 7,601,662. The USPTO issued the Inter Partes Reexamination Certificate for the ‘662 patent on June 7, 2013. Servilla Whitney LLC represented BASF in the reexamination.

Effective January 7, 2013, Diehl Servilla LLC has changed the firm name to Servilla Whitney LLC.
Glen Diehl, a founding member of the firm, retired as a member of the firm at the end of 2012, and he has left the firm to join the firm of Graham Curtin in Morristown, New Jersey. We wish Glen success in his new venture.

Sunil Raval received Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University, graduating cum laude. Sunil received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law- Newark and received his Masters in Pharmaceutical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Sunil’s practice includes opinions, counseling, and patent and trademark application preparation and prosecution for large and small corporate clients.
Michelle Cristaldi received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California – Berkeley and B.A. in Anthropology, University of California – Berkeley. Michelle received for Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Michelle’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution including technologies in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields. Michelle also works in the areas of post grant practice, including ex parte and inter partes reexaminations.
Rebecca Smirk received a B.A. from Swarthmore College in Chemistry and Economics and a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. Prior to and during law school, Rebecca spent ten years as a research scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, where she worked on developing new medicines. Rebecca’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution and opinions for chemical and pharmaceutical clients.
Rory Alegria received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry from the University of California – Berkeley. Rory received a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law-Newark. Rory’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution and opinions, particularly in technologies related to chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, water filtration systems, automotive catalysts, semiconductors and cosmetics. Rory also handles ex parte and inter partes reexaminations.
