Lucas’s practice includes domestic and international patent preparation in the areas of chemistry, materials science, and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to going to law school, Lucas completed a postdoc at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and then spent six years at a major energy company, where he worked in the areas of gas separation and catalysis and worked closely with universities to develop new methodologies in computational chemistry and materials design. He is a co-author of over twenty-five peer reviewed publications.

Outside of the office, Lucas enjoys running, camping, reading novels, and going on road trips with his family.
